All in one printers are certainly very good items to have around in the home and at the office. If you run a home business you will benefit from being able to print and fax from the same machine, as well as being able to photocopy when needed.
But have you ever considered getting a duplex printer instead of a standard all in one printer?
The chances are you may not even have heard of this type of printing, since it is not commonplace and a lot of other people haven’t heard about it yet either. The name might give you a clue to what it means, but if you have no idea, don’t worry – the solution is very simple.
Basically speaking this type of printer enables you to print on both sides of a sheet of paper at the same time. Normally if you wanted to do this, you would have to run the sheet of paper through once, turn it over and then run it through again. With duplex printing capabilities you wouldn’t have to do this. You could just put the paper in once and you would get a document printed on both sides as it came out of the printer.
So how much do duplex printers cost?
Well surprisingly enough they aren’t that expensive to buy. A recent Canon model that had these capabilities came in at just over £100, so you see it isn’t really very expensive when compared to many other printers. In addition to this the printer we are talking about here had lots of other advanced features as well, so it does represent quite good value for money all told.
One thing you do need to bear in mind is that duplex printing tends to be a lot slower than printing off single sided items. This may not be a problem for you, but it depends on how quickly you want to get the items you need printed. In any event it could be worthwhile knowing you have two options for all your printing needs. This is certainly more versatile than having just a normal printer.
So if you are considering buying a new all in one printer, why not think about whether a duplex all in one model could work better for you? If you like having more options and you frequently print double sided documents, it could be just the ticket.
