How to buy your own Google Glass – Strictly for US residents only [How-To] #ifihadglass

For Google Glass aspirants who want their hands on it – Here you go! But This offer carries a tag “Strictly for US residents only”.

Google Glass, Google’s latest brainchild of wearable computing has already made a lot of buzz in the techworld, Earlier Google wasn’t ready to release it for consumers other than developers but now Google has changed their mind and they are ready to make it available for Potential customers who really eager to become Glass Explorer.

Apart from this announcement, Google also released a Teaser video on Google Glass saying “How it feels [through Glass]” which reveals the UI of Google Glass for the first time.

Google also released a set of snapshots telling “What it does” explaining the possibilites of Google Glass. It does everything from taking Snapshots and recording videos and sharing it in your Google+ and Hanging out with friends. Glass is a handy version all Google products integrated together – Google Search, Google Voice Search, Google Maps and Google Translation with voice input, Let’s say you are in china and you don’t know chinese, don’t worry, just say “Okay Glass, What’s I hate Google in chinese” – it’ll just display the chinese version and English phonetic of it infront of your eyes.

This is an excellent tool for adventure lovers – Sky jumping, parachuting it can easily record everything from First person PoV and its Strong, Flexible and Light.

It can also be fitted in your Rayban or Sporting sunglass so it wont look like you are wearing some half-naked glass and for Batman lovers – Yes, it does come in black and for Lumia lovers  - Yes, it does come in Multi-color.

Ultimately Google which addicted your fingers is now a step ahead to addict your eyes.

How to apply

We’re looking for bold, creative individuals who want to join us and be a part of shaping the future of Glass. We’d love to make everyone an Explorer, but we’re starting off a bit smaller. We’re still in the early stages, and while we can’t promise everything will be perfect, we can promise it will be exciting.

Using Google+ or Twitter, tell us what you would do if you had Glass, starting with the hashtag #ifihadglass.

  • Your application must be 50 words or less
  • You must include #ifihadglass in your application
  • You can include up to 5 photos with your application
  • You can include a short video (15 secs max)
  • Be sure to follow us on Google+ (+ProjectGlass) or Twitter (@projectglass) so that we can contact you directly
  • You must be at least 18 years old and live in the U.S. to apply

What happens next?

The deadline for applications is February 27th. If you are chosen, we will reach out to you with an invitation to become a Glass Explorer (please remember to follow us so that we can contact you directly). Explorers will each need to pre-order a Glass Explorer Edition for $1500 plus tax and attend a special pick-up experience, in person, in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
